my ex-boyfriend is now one of my close friends. we've really only started talking in the last couple weeks. however he's getting back together with the girl who broke us up, because she spread rumors that he cheated on me with her. she cheated on him, more than once.
i just dont get it
WHY WOULD ANYONE GET BACK TOGETHER OR BE IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE WHO CHEATED ON THEM? ? ? WHY?

Why?
It's this odd little thing called love, that's why.
I'm sorry, but it' a lot closer to addiction than love.
Like how cigarettes are bad for people, but they smoke them anyway.
Love involves trust, respect, and commitment.
Love also involves forgiveness on the one hand and willingness to change on the other. Good people sometimes do stupid things and make bad decisions, and sometimes if you're in love all you can do is forgive them and hope that they will learn from their mistakes.
I think in order to have a healthy relationship, you have to respect and love yourself enough to really evaluate the situation and decide whether or not the person who cheated on you is best for you. Sure, you can forgive them, but forgiveness is completely different from condoning something. If you allow a person who "loves" you and whom you love to treat you horribly, forgiveness becomes an enabler for something wrong and unjust. More that that, you sell yourself short, and self-sacrifice is not something you want to be doing.
